LIVING IN 1984
By: Jason Robb, attorney
In George Orwell’s novel, “1984,” he describes a futuristic world in
which the people are controlled by a tyrannical government. The government
Orwell describes is not a Republican form of government, but a government ruled
by self-chosen elite. These elitists (not unlike most politicians today) feel it
is their duty to rule the lives of the common people and decide what is best for
them.
Within this government, the leader is known as Big Brother. The people are
taught from little up that Big Brother is there to protect them - that Big
Brother will take care of their every need. Hence, the people don’t need to
worry about anything. That is why Big Brother is there. Big Brother becomes
symbolic with the government and the government is there to protect the people
who aren’t smart enough to take care of themselves.
George Orwell describes a world in which the government changes history so it
will better match the thinking of the day. It becomes apparent, “Who ever
controls the present, controls the past, and who ever controls the past,
controls the future.” The government in 1984 achieves this by rewriting
the history books and literally creates a society without a history, or at least
without a valid, accurate history. Thus a people without a history are a people
without a future. Big Brothers must impose his own history upon the people. It
dictates what the people can say by making it a crime to say forbidden words,
and more frightening; people are monitored to determine if they may even have
forbidden thoughts.
In the novel, the main character, Winston, discovers something is wrong, he
can feel it, he can see it, but some how, most others can’t. There are some,
but they are few in number, and are considered abnormal and an “enemy”
because they have incorrect thoughts and ideas. Perhaps Orwell was reflecting
upon the words of the late Soviet Dictator Joseph Stalin who stated, “Ideas
are more dangerous than guns. We do not allow people to own guns, why should we
allow them to have ideas.”
The American people are being conditioned to frown upon “politically
incorrect ideas” in preparation for a world ruled by Big Brother and the vast
majority is blindly unaware. I do not want to alarm people or create fear in
their hearts so that they are reluctant to continue in their efforts of bringing
revival to White Christian America, but we need to be aware that “1984” is
perhaps upon us.
As Big Brother works to change history books, Orwell’s “star” Winston
states, “This process of continuous alteration was applied not only to
newspapers, but to books periodicals, pamphlets, posters, leaflets, films, sound
tracks, cartoons, photographs-to every kind of literature or documentation which
might conceivably hold any political or ideological significance. Day by day and
almost minute by minute the past was brought up to date....The largest section
of the Records Department, far larger that the one in which Winston worked,
consisted simply of persons whose duty it was to track down and collect all
copies of books, newspapers, and other documents which had been superseded and
were due for alterations....Books, also were recalled and rewritten again
and again, and were invariable reissued.”
This is upon us today. We see our history being rewritten and not only do we
see the past being changed to conform to the political correctness of the day,
but we see this change occurring right in front of our eyes.
One example is the famous firefighter picture scene at the World Trade Center
in which three firefighters are raising the flag. The actual photo shows three
white firemen hoisting up the American flag. But now a monument is being built
at ground zero, in which a white, Mexican, and a Negro is hoisting up Old Glory.
Future generations will come and mistakenly believe the exact opposite of the
truth.
All through the South, Confederate monuments and Confederate flags are being
torn down in an effort to orphan our children from the historic struggle of
their ancestors. The Bonnie Blue flag and even the Texas flag is being
questioned because they also represents the pride of millions of people for
their cherished past.
History books are being rewritten in order to make history more politicaly
correct. In New Jersey the study of the founding fathers is no longer required.
William Perry, the discoverer of the North Pole is no longer credited for doing
anything more than being lucky enough to bring along his black servant, Matthew
Henson, which is now listed as the co-discoverer of the North Pole. In fact,
Henson’s body has been removed from its former burial plot and reburied in
Arlington National Cemetery with a head stone reading, Co-discover of the
North Pole.
In an Indiana school, a mural which depicts major events in Indiana history,
displays Klansmen having a cross lighting. Now, the school is being asked to
take it down because it “offends” some of the non-white students. Thomas
Jefferson, one of our greatest Founding Fathers, has been slandered by the “Big
Brother” crowd of having had a sexual affair with Sally Hemings, a black
slave, and producung mulatto children. Yet the overwhelming opinion of all
historical scholars claim that it simply never happened. Yet, we must admit that
as the “old” historians die off a new breed of “politically correct” Big
Brother historians will come to the front and claim that it is now a proven
fact.
Those who reject the new proven teaching of “Big Brother”
historians will perhaps be considered dangerous to the peace and tranquility of
society.
Far fetched?
Dr. Leonard Jeffries, one time chairman of the Black Studies Department at
City College of New York stated, “To make Washington and Jefferson out to be a
freedom-loving people, you’ve got to be joking.” Jeffries was a consultant
to the task force appointed by New York’s education commission that
recommended sweeping changes in school curriculum that would eliminate teachings
that favored the legacy of European culture. The New York State task force has
stated that teaching history from a European viewpoint (Euro centrism) has
created a “terrible damaging effect” on non-White children, while at the
same time have given White children “inappropriate encouragement” to believe
that European culture is somehow superior to the culture of others such as
African or Asian.
At one time, Martin Luther King, Jr. was known by millions to be Communist
sympathizer, with ties to over 60 communist organizations. He had adulterous
affairs with many women, plagiarized his writings during seminary, and even
stated, “American servicemen in Vietnam were worse than Nazis.” He
promoted the destruction of a White Christian Culture in lieu of a multiracial
nation that did not recognize the intent of our Founding Fathers. Now, we have a
national holiday for King when in fact there is not another single American
honored with a holiday. For those who want to point out Washington’s Birthday
or Lincoln’s birthday we must be reminded that neither of these men have a
national holiday honoring their achievements. “President’s Day” is a
national holiday to honor presidents Lincoln and Washington collectively.
Children are presented a distorted image of King. He is admired as a great
man without being taught of his Communist connections, The vast majority of
American don’t even realize that his FBI files, in which the FBI spied on him
for many years, has been sealed by a federal judge until 2027. A new generation
will be raised without knowing the past and in all retrospect, won’t care
because history has been rewritten.
Names of streets are changed to Martin Luther King, Jr.; rivers are changed
from Squaw River or other Indian names because it may offend the Indians,
Native-Americans, or whatever name they are supposed to be called. Songs are
changed such as the beloved, “Oh Black Joe,” to “Old Poor Joe,” because
it offends Negroes. The Louisiana song, “My Dixie” has been changed because
it states, “Black...” We could go on forever. As George Orwell stated in
1984, “day by day and almost minute by minute the past was brought up to
date.”
In the novel, “1984,” the worse department of the government was the “Thought
Police.” A person could be prosecuted for their thoughts. George Orwell
writes, “It was terribly dangerous to let your thought wander when you were
in any public place or within range of a telescreen. The smallest thing could
give you away. A nervous tic, an unconscious look of anxiety, a habit of
muttering to yourself-anything that could carry with it a suggestion of
abnormality. In any case, to wear an improper expression on your face was
itself a punishable offense. There was even a word for it in Newspeak (the
official language of the government): facecrime, it was called.”
A few years ago at the University of Connecticut a student was suspended by
the school for engaging in “Inappropriately directed laughter.
Many would laugh at the suggestion that we are today entering Orwell’s
futuristic world of 1984. People in Orwell’s book were equally blinded.
Ask the man in Idaho who used the “N” word. He was charged with a “hate
crime.” His wife, a reporter, was covering a football game for a local
newspaper, and the black referee got upset with the reporter because she took
his picture, he grabbed the camera from her, yanking the strap that was around
her neck and pushed her to the ground. She hollered to her husband, and he came
running to help her. Yelling at the black referee he used the terrible “N”
word as he was pushing the referee off of his wife. The prosecutor did not
charge the referee for assault or even battery, but instead charged the reporter’s
husband with a hate crime because he used the “N” word.
At Indiana University, the university has an official policy that if a person
makes a strange face or expression towards a non-white, and that non-white feels
uncomfortable, the student can be charged and dismissed from the university. If
a person commits a crime against a non-white, and the prosecutor feels it was
because of the person’s race, he will be charged with a hate crime, the
sentencing can be enhanced.
The thought police are here.
There is a frightening similarity between the government of George Orwell’s
novel, “1984,” and the government of today. The difference is Orwell’s
novel is based on a government that is oppressive towards everyone. The
government of today has become oppressive against those of European descent, the
same people that built this country. That is why we see the names being changed,
our monuments being torn down, history being rewritten, and words being
regulated.
Today, we are living in a culture in which the government, our political
leaders, and even our so-called church leaders have animosity and hatred towards
our people. That is why there is an aggressive attempt to destroy everything
that will remind our people of their glorious past. But as sons and daughters of
God and of Israel, we have a duty to ourselves, a duty to our forefathers, and a
duty to our children to continue to be missionaries in order to proclaim a
message of hope and deliverance for White Christian America. We are not here to
hate anyone; we are here to love our people and to be a beacon of light to those
who are searching.
Just as Winston in “1984,” we know something is wrong when we look what
is happening around us; however, it is our duty to be the lighthouse in stormy
weather sending a signal to our people that American is in distress.
Those who are distressed over the great unrest in our nation today would be
well advised to heed the wisdom of Jer. 6:16 “Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye
in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way,
and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.”
